چکیده
Background: Intersectionality theory posits that considering a single axis of inequality is limited and (dis)advantage on multiple axes simultaneously needed. The extent to which intersectionality has been used within interventional health research not systematically examined. This scoping review aimed map out the use intersectionality. It explores when designing implementing public interventions, or analysing impact these interventions. Methods: We undertook systematic searches Medline Scopus from inception through June 2021, with key search terms including “intersectionality”, “interventions” “public health”. References were screened those using primary data high-income countries included relevant synthesised. Results: After screening 2108 studies, we 12 studies. Six studies qualitative focused alcohol substance abuse (two studies), mental general promotion (one study) housing interventions study). three quantitative examined studies) smoking cessation study), while mixed-method sexual exploitation was primarily analyse intervention effects (eight but also for design (three one study it both analysis. Informal employment in high-income countries for a health inequalities research: A scoping review.
BACKGROUND Informal employment (IE) is one of the least studied employment conditions in public health research, mainly due to the difficulty of its conceptualization and its measurement, producing a lack of a unique concept and a common method of measurement. OBJECTIVE The aim of this review is to identify literature on IE in order to improve its definition and methods of measurement, with s...
متن کاملCommunity health workers in Canada and other high-income countries: A scoping review and research gaps.
OBJECTIVES Community health workers (CHWs) have been deployed to provide health-related services to their fellow community members and to guide them through often complex health systems. They help address concerns about how marginalized populations in many countries experience health inequities that are due, in part, to lack of appropriate primary health care services, possibly resulting in ina...
متن کاملChanging the Insight of Scientists in High Income Countries: A Solution for Collaborative Research with Lower Income Countries
The recent issue of Asia Pacific Journal of Medical Toxicology made an important and interesting theme “What is the Best Research for Low Income Countries?” (1). We enjoyed reading the paper; nevertheless we hope to find a chance to share our idea. It was mentioned that some, for sure not all, researchers from the developed countries might not have enough motivation to contribute to the scient...
متن کاملScoping review of complexity theory in health services research.
BACKGROUND There are calls for better application of theory in health services research. Research exploring knowledge translation and interprofessional collaboration are two examples, and in both areas, complexity theory has been identified as potentially useful. However, how best to conceptualize and operationalize complexity theory in health services research is uncertain. The purpose of this...
